12th October
I am still trying to get pictures for they background of story. I have got some good pictures of the tsunami. Maddy and I made some people that are going to be our family. We have three girls, a dad and mum but we still need to make a son. We are still trying to figure out how we are going to make them walk. I have made a background of the sea and the beach. We are finding some things challenging but are trying to figure them out or work around them.
October 13th
Maddy and I made our people again because the people we used didn't work properly. We made a girl shouting, a boy walking and a girl talking. we also got more pictures for our backgrounds and choose which one we would like the most. We got some sound for our project by importing them. we also used some sound of what people were really like in the actual Tsunami. I work really well but maddy and I are still a bit uncertian about whether to do a tsunami or not because it has so far turned out really hard.
October 15th
Maddy and I asked Mrs Beadle if we could change our Tsunami idea to a Huricane because we had a hard time doing the tsunami crashing down. She said yes and so we started and found it easier. I made a hurican and made it move and grow across the screen. Maddy did the classroom and some of the people. we took some photos with an ISS camera and took pictures of the classrom for our Movie thing.
October 16th
I carried on with my hurricane while Maddy did the classroom scene with kids and a teacher talking about hurricanes. I made the hurricane go from the sea background to theplayground background. It worked really well and Maddy and I are pleased with it as well as Mrs Beadle. Maddy and i have just come up with a problem of putting all our work onto one computer because we have been working on seperate computers. Maddy sent it to me and i will figure it out. We are trying to finish it but are a long way from that.
21st October
Today we finished copying Maddys work onto my computer. Maddy did more of the class conversation and I fixed up all the mistakes and cleaned it up. We are planning to put sound onto the class and make them say more and make the hurricane scene longer. Maddy is incharge of the Class and I am incharge of the Hurricane. We work well as a team.
22nd October
Sierra did some work at home on the class, she put in more facts about Hurricanes. At school the timing was a bit mixed up so I cleaned it to make the timing right. We also added in a new scene of a house, and we are hoping to extend a bit, and make more scenes. Also we are still thinking up ideas of what the class can say. We also are going to add sound to the people because they are really quite. we are going to add a few more scenes.
Tuesday 27th October
We added in 2 new backgrounds with information, the 2nd one is still being devolped. We don't have far to go but we still need to add in music. we have almost finished and have alot of information in it and it will inform others about hurricanes and this project could help them survive one.
Did you draw up a project plan?
Yes, Mrs Beadle gave us some questions on what we were going to do for our project. We had to preplan everything and be organised. this project sort of helped you with your organisation skills. we had to write all the details to do with our project e.g. how many slides/characters....
If so, did you stick with this plan?
Yes we did stick with the plan and along the lines of it. we did do most of what the plan said except we changed from a tsunami to a hurricane and also had fewer characters. We did stick with most of the plan.
Did you draw up a storyboard showing what ideas you had for each scene?
Yes we did but it was not a storyboard. It was just a written discussion about what we were going to do and our ideas and disagreements. We preplaned before eache scene.
Did you stay with this plan?
Yes we did. We stayed with every one of the plans and didn't change our ideas. When we were planning we thought very carefully abour what we were going to do next and what we are going to do for the scene. We did it and it worked well because we preplanned.
What were the difficulties you had with: Animation? Audio? Dialogue? Drawings?
I had some trouble with making the people speak at the right time and not speak at the same time of others. I had trouble with the timing. I also had trouble with the sound because when we recorded it went all cracky.
What other difficulties did you have through the development?
None
How did you overcome each one of them?
For the timing, I let Maddy do it because she was really good at it. She fixed it up and it was all good. For the vioces that were cracky, we couldn't really change it but we kept with it.
Are there any parts of your animation which are not working?
Yes the recording was cracky.
What were the fun parts of the project?
Making the hurricane and the people and making scripts for them.
Write a paragraph on your final project.
I really enjoyed doing this project, it really made me be organised because I had to keep a diary. I really enjoyed using an new programe (Scratch) and I also enjoyed the challege of having to figure it out while doing your project. I had trouble with making the people speak at the right time. Maddy helped me with this. I thought this was a really good project and really enjoyed it. I wish in the future that i could work with Scratch again. I found making the script was the easiest to do. I also enjoyed making the different characters. I really enjoyed this project.
